App in the Air / Product & technology partnerships

Connecting technology partnerships to product delivery

A platform relationship becomes useful when it leads to something the product team can actually deliver—and something travelers can use.

Android product and partner ecosystem
My role
Partner relationships, product direction and coordination
Platforms
Android, Wear OS, Tizen and voice assistants

Connecting both sides of the work

As Android lead and product owner, I worked with technology partners through early-access programs, product discussions and technical feedback. I brought opportunities and constraints back to the team, helped shape the product work and reported relevant results to partners.

This combined relationship work with practical delivery: deciding which platform opportunities were worth pursuing, coordinating implementation and keeping the partner informed. Negotiations with Samsung were conducted in English.

From an opportunity to an application

The team shipped experiences for Wear OS and Samsung's Tizen-based watches, as well as voice-assistant integrations including Bixby. My responsibility covered the partner relationship, product direction and coordination; the engineering team implemented the later platform integrations.

I also helped App in the Air enter Google's Launchpad Accelerator and secured $500,000 in nominal Google Cloud credits. That describes credits granted, not a claim that the entire amount was spent, saved or earned as revenue.

Contributing to the developer community

Alongside the product work, I was a Google Developer Expert in Firebase, Google Play and Google Pay from 2017 to 2022. I spoke at developer events, provided early-access feedback and mentored startups through Google Launchpad.

Working with other teams helped me understand different product constraints and explain technical choices to people outside my own organization.

What this work connected

Partner relationships, product judgment and implementation were part of the same responsibility. The outcome was shipped platform experiences and access to technical support and resources for the team.

Based on my career record and retrospective account, updated October 2026. Google Developer Expert participation and vendor partnerships do not imply employment at or endorsement by those companies.
